SeeSaw Café

Set in the sun drenched atrium of the CentralPod Design Center in Jing’an, SeeSaw Café acts as the hub and the heart of this Boutique Office building where the buzz of coffee drinkers spills into the open space. Channeling the traditional feel of Parisian and Viennese coffee shops of the beginning of the 20th century, the recycled brass shelving system displays coffee paraphernalia and builds up the bar area as a Kiosk, a machine that connects and serves to all spaces surrounding it.

The large counter offers the opportunity for show and interaction, and the Kiosk becomes a stage for lessons on perfect coffee crafting. Inside the café, the brass tubes of the bar continue along embedded in the bare cement wall, and minimalist furniture made from old pieces of reclaimed wood are scattered through the space. The ‘outside’ area offers a different atmosphere with it’s geometric patterned mosaic tile floor and soaring atrium ceiling.
