Francs Bourgeois

This derelict apartment in the heart of Le Marais in Paris has been reborn under a narrow palette of shades of gray. The renovation process uncovered original chevron patterned wood floors dating back to before the 1800s. These were then carefully restored in order to revitalize the rooms and to renew the warmth, character and history of the space as it was.

The apartment has been newly subdivided to better fit a more modern lifestyle, a large bedroom connects to the living space giving the apartment a contemporary flair. The living spaces are accentuated by unassuming soft tones and reliefs. The kitchen has been relocated to make better use of the space around the entrance, it also opens up into the living room, offering all the amenities of a luxury apartment in one of the most historically significant and oldest areas of Paris.
